Event Program

Our goal is to make participants more powerful agents of transformation.

We will work together to...

  • Awaken the passion and energy in ourselves and our community
  • Create community in record time
  • Expose and share cutting-edge ideas on sustainability, business, and design
  • Develop our whole selves... bringing together our social, intellectual, creative, and professional selves

Format: A mix of work and play, formal and informal, teaching and learning

The event is formatted as a series of activities crafted to help create connections, spur ideas, foster learning, encourage reflection, and inspire action.

Much of the event is organized using unconference principles (see Open Space Technology) and there will be participant-led workshops throughout. The interests and expertise of the attendees will drive the program. There will also be fun breaks, social time, and wild-card activities to spice things up.

Everyone's experience will be a little bit different based on how they want to spend their time.

Preparation: You Get Out of It What You Put Into It

Think about what you, personally, want to contribute and what you want to get out of the event. Come prepared to make that happen. Some tips:

  • If you'd like to propose an unconference topic or drive some discussion about your current projects, do some thinking about how to craft the most meaningful conversation (framing, forum, prompts needed, etc).
  • Share your interests and expertise! If you haven't signed-up to lead a workshop, contact us and we'll get you on the roster.
  • Participate in the Greenermind Showcase (think 8th grade talent show but more fun and less awkward). Contact us and we'll include you in the line-up.
The event will be shaped by all of you--and you will get out of the Summit what you put into it.

2013 Theme: From Little Things, Big Things Grow

The theme of the conference this year will spur us to think about how to realize the full potential of our endeavors, no matter how big or small. The seed of a great idea, given the right care and support, can grow into something world-changing. We'll work together to define what that means for us - and how we can support each other in creating the future we want to live in.
